Disobedient my mind,
Every now and then going back to peek
At those memories that prick
Tearing my mind
Why isn’t it easy to forget!
Never take a look at those in the past
If it can’t bring delight
I plead to the self
But, who listens!
Playing hide and seek with flame
That is dangerous, become our game
Though it makes me dizzy
Through the cracks my mind bear
Sneaking in the memories, unaware
And hide and seek I play
Until they let me be free again.

Beautiful! Personally, not so good memories of the past don’t occupy my mind space. But I do think of good old days, of times with friends and carefree chatter. Life feels changed now 🙂

That’s exactly how my mind works…keeps on going back in time to revel in memories that now bring no delight! So beautiful!

The mind does what it wants when it wants. It’s so hard to control. So we’re stuck with the painful memories, which is very unpleasant. Great poem!

Our minds are always like that! Taking us back to the things we don’t want to think about. This was a beautiful poem!

Oh beautiful! It is indeed so weird. The mind always goes back to where we do not want it to go, and only thinks of memories that hurt…

The mind is disobedient. It doesn’t listen to reason and does what it wants. A lovely poem for all the victims of this stubborn mind 🙂

nice, yes our mind gets disobedient when it comes to not revisiting those memories.

Who can control the mind? And in a rather perverse manner it will go to memories that pain us. That’s only too true.
