She looked perfect, just like the first time he met her, in a green silk saree and a slim gold necklace, simple and beautiful as always. They had spent 36 years together and he couldn’t have imagined a better partner.
Today she is leaving him. Well, her body is; her memories and the memories they built together all those years have made an everlasting impression in his heart and will stay with him forever, as a heart print that could never be erased as long his heartbeats.
He leaned down and kissed gently on her forehead as her lifeless face smiled at him for the last time.

That is the saddest thing, ever! Losing a partner after so many years of togetherness is like losing a part of your body…a part of your heart that will forever stay numb!

I can imagine how devastating it is. My parents celebrated their golden anniversary and after a couple of years my dad passed away. My mother has not been the same since then. A touching post.

My aunt’s mom recently lost her husband of 60 years. Yes, you read that right. Sixty years. Ever since then she seems kinda lost. Of-course my aunt, and her immediate family keep trying to bring her out of this shell she has withdrawn into. But we all can’t even imagine what it must be like to lose a partner of a lifetime.
