Hello, said a piece of memory I ignored.
It flashed again,
and again,
until I was burned
inside out.
Hello, said a piece of memory I wished to ignore!

What mystery my mind holds!
Yet another piece of submission rejected
And here my mind is coming up with another piece to submit!
Sometimes I feel, my mind thrives in rejection
What a mystery this mind is!

Could You, Human? #WordlessWednesday 97

You being here had been always my pleasure
from once upon a time when you first arrived
to now, when your presence overpower the world
I relish your presence
all I ask is to be kind and compassionate to us,
the other life forms, who can’t communicate through words.
Enjoy my shade,
adore those butterflies befriending the new blossoms
leave behind a trace of yours
without disturbing the laws of the universe,
could you, human?

Out in the sky
Somewhere far away
Beams a star,

Here on the balcony
A smile shines on my face
Spotting that twinkling star,

A tiny star
Residing light years away
Erases my worries with its flicker
Without worrying about its purpose!
Another lesson taught by the Universe
On a serene night.

Journey #WordlessWednesday 92

raindrops trickling
leaves swaying
the road ahead glistening with rays of hope
this too, a slice of life!

Life isn’t always stitched with grief and sorrows. There are these beautiful moments that grace our solemn days making them a tad enticing. And often these little moments of joy appear in the midst of our journey just like that. They can be overlooked as we hurry to our destination or can be tucked in our memory reservoir for another day as a priceless moment of relish.

Is it the sun playing hide and seek
Is it the sky jealous of sharing her friend
Is it the cloud goofing around just because
Black clouds towering
like a mountain
so massive
Blocking my way ahead
just because
Another rainy day
marking its territory
in my memory

Blushing bride, the sky,
Graceful than ever she is,
Serene, this feeling.

In my courtyard,
Lurks those ghosts of memories
Waiting to come alive.

Hibiscus was a part of our childhood. I don’t remember a single house in Kerala without this plant in their courtyard.

Hibiscus leaves were used as a shampoo and conditioner in Indian households. My sister and I loved this homemade shampoo. Those times we never used store-bought shampoos and conditioners on our hair.

Though we were supposed to use the grindstone to make the leaves into a pulp, my sister and I preferred the electric blender for its ease of use. Of course, our mom was not so thrilled when we used her beloved blender to make shampoo which wasn’t food and we were subjected to scoldings as an aftermath.

But it was worth it. Our shiny hair made it all worth it. 🙂

I clicked the above picture inside our apartment complex some days ago. The memories a simple plant triggers…

Days Once Familiar

Poem

Days once familiar, no longer here
faded elsewhere,
ridden with caution.

Faces not many appear, neither are welcomed,
shaded with woes,
hidden behind masks.

A new world, bugs roam freely,
squashed like bugs, meet your fate,
if wander in the streets, mankind afraid.

This new world, an ailing one
bearing many angsts,
to leave behind.

A new world, a healing one,
sharing the hope
of, returning to the days once familiar.

Days once familiar, remembered dearly.
Days once familiar, a longing in million hearts.
