I’m late in publishing this week’s #FictionMonday prompts. The thing is I got the second dose of the vaccine last Friday. It was all good on Friday. By night I started getting headaches and was tired. I couldn’t sleep well. Saturday morning welcomed me with fever, exhaustion, and more headache. I spent almost the whole day sleeping or trying to sleep. By evening fever wasn’t bothering much. Tiredness and headache still lingered. Sunday morning I woke up feeling better though the headache still hung around. By afternoon I felt better. A lot better. I thought it was all over. I did some vacuuming and laundry and was satisfied with how the weekend turned out to be! Then came Sunday night and came the headache back. Slowly tiredness also returned. I had another bad night. Monday morning I woke up feeling exhausted and the headache playing drums inside my head.
I rested the whole of Monday, hoping to put the exhaustion and headache to rest. I am feeling better now, but planning it to take it slow. And hence this delayed post.
But I’m glad it is all over with now. I hope all of you got/ will get your dose of vaccine when it is available. I also hope that your effects won’t be as bad as mine.

Thank you for your piece, Suzana & Akshata!
Fiction Monday
The idea is simple – to write fiction. On Mondays, I will post the prompt here. There will be a word prompt and a picture prompt. You have one week to respond with a story. You can choose to include both the prompts in your story or just one prompt – the choice is yours.
The expected word count is between 50 and 500. From the nineteenth edition onwards I am offering something different for fiction Monday. You are also welcome to offer your poetry and non-fiction musings along with fictional pieces if that’s your preferred area. The whole idea is to write. But we will continue to call this as #FictionMonday because why not!
You have time till May 15th Saturday, 2021.
Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below. I will share your creations here along with the prompts for the forty-sixth edition on Monday the 17th of May.
