All that matters is today you are here
and today, you can begin again.
And if you fail today,
remember, tomorrow is yet another day
to begin, again.

Woods #ThursdayTreeLove

Appalachian trail in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

woods aren’t always dark and cold,
not when they filter the sunlight in
and let the breeze hug you
not when they shed their leaves around you
as if they are conversing with you!

woods aren’t always dark and deep,
not when they keep an eye out for you
and promise to be there waiting for you
when you are done with your quest
as if they are the friends you sought always!

woods aren’t always dark and cold,
not when they safeguard your secrets
and let you continue your journey in peace
not when they listen to your stories
as if there is no one else in the world!

woods aren’t always dark and deep,
not when they offer a home away from home
and trails leading to a better clarity
not when you find a piece of you
among the rustle of leaves!

A cute nest spotted in Washington, DC
where one's heart is,
where one feels safe,
where one is free to be themselves,
where one can rest peacefully,
that's home.

This picture is clicked during our visit to Washington, DC in the first week of October. The hustle and bustle of this place is incredible, so are the gorgeous historic buildings. A pair of eyes seemed too few to soak in the beauty of Washington DC. Amidst the hustle and bustle, we spotted this cozy nest in front of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. It was indeed a serene sight.

those cherished memories -
smearing fragrances,
spilling colors,
in today's pages.

yesterday, a page written in the past -
forgotten memories,
lost moments,
all safe in the past.

how else will you know if you are gifted or not,
if you dare not to open the present?

how else will you know if your gift is valuable or not,
if you never use it?

how else will you add more value to your gift,
if you never dare to share it with the world?

believe it or not,
you are gifted
believe it or not,
it’s time to use it, share it, and
be proud of it.

Poem

you can forever search for a miracle with no luck
until you find happiness in just being alive,
soaking in the morning sun,
cherishing the little moments that pass by,
and not be in a haste to chase after those fleeting moments,
but let it pass by you
leaving you with nothing but gratitude,
for life simply is a miracle
to those who are willing to appreciate life
with a heart filled with gratitude.

summer sprinkles a shine all around
making the flowers loaned from the spring smile even brighter
the freshly woven cobwebs bridging the flora reflect tantalizingly
like a carefully chosen piece of jewelry adorning the blooms
summer sprinkles a gorgeous glow all around
the fresh blossoms sometimes appear to be in a meditative prayer
summer shines fearlessly, making everything appear alluring in its glow
summer magic – irresistible and contagious!

Time Doesn’t Stop #FictionMonday #Poem

#FictionMonday, life, life lessons, poem, poetry, Prompt, time

Photo by Yahya Hasan on Pexels.com

Time doesn’t stop,
for anyone,
or anything!

then, what’s the point in putting your dreams on hold?

because, time will run out on you eventually.
if you don’t live for yourself today,
are you sure that you can, tomorrow?

is there any guarantee there will even be a tomorrow laid out for you to live?

don’t let the dreams simmer inside you
let it boil and bubble up
let it bring you elation

you cannot pause the time, not even for a second

you can but try to freeze the time
by living this moment on your terms
time doesn’t stop for anyone or anything

but, I promise, if you live today to make your dreams come true

you will have cherished moments swirling inside you for years to come
all you need is to stop waiting and
start living your life on your terms

because,

time doesn’t stop,
for anyone,
or anything!

Journey #ThursdayTreeLove

Near Salt Lake River, Mesa, AZ

my path ahead
is filled with lifeless trees
staring into oblivion.

i move forward
not knowing where i end up eventually.
the skeletons of the trees
— are they guiding me somewhere?
or steering me to something dreadful?
do they represent
the nightmares i try to run away from
or the spring of hope that could appear in the distant future?

my journey continues, despite
the eluding answers

for now, i will find contentment
in pursuing this journey that leads to nowhere.

Joining Parul’s #ThursdayTreeLove with this tree shot from Salt Lake River in Mesa, Arizona. We hiked this area in the last weekend of February –and it was a wonderful experience. Some trees resembled the ghosts of their past. What stories are they hiding? I wonder. The above verses are a figment of my imagination. I hope you enjoy this read.

Gleeful Trees #ThursdayTreeLove

Kiwanis Park in Tempe, AZ

canopies of leaves
reaching out to share a touch,
maybe, share a story,
filtering light through,
offering shade,
ushering life

As much as this picture jolted me to jot down a couple of verses, my lines couldn’t do justice to the picturesque view that sprinkled a sense of serenity in me. This park we visited last month was such a treat for the soul.

Joining Parul’s Thursday Tree Love a week and a day late.
