It’s been so long since I published a gratitude post.
I like it when a post starts with “It’s been so long since…” because it feels personal—like catching up with a dear friend.
And when it’s personal, when you’re speaking to someone you trust, the curtains come off. The masks fall away.
It frees the mind of apprehensions. It becomes easier to pour out my heart.
Have you experienced that?
Truly, there are so many little and big joys that happen in our lives every single day. And yet, we often fail to notice them. Because most of these moments are supposed to happen, and so, we take them for granted.
I get it. Why make a big deal out of the little things?
Why does the teapot bubbling with that brown beverage, ready to warm me on this summer morning, matter so much?
Why do my not-so-little one’s silly jokes at dinner light me up every time, even though they did it yesterday, and the day before?
Why does a quiet moment—when I sit and do absolutely nothing—feel so deeply meaningful?
It’s the same sky, the same trees, the same stars, the same nature. Why do they feel special? Why do they matter?
I’m not here to decode that mystery for you. All I know is that fleeting moments carry such wondrous joy—every single time. And when I notice them, when I relish them as they happen, the beauty intensifies.
At least, it does for me.
When I get to live the same day again, it feels like a blessing.
And when I notice all those big little moments, I’m honoring that blessedness.
It’s not boring.
It’s purely bliss.
Now tell me, what everyday joys are you noticing today?
