It only stays quiet for a little while—
all the dreams,
all the quests,
once stifled
resurface yet again
with a vengeance.
All the quenched hopes,
all the unmet wishes,
blaze from within,
until
you stop making excuses,
until
you find yourself
wilting from inside
in the depths of the flames
of unfulfilled dreams.
They are never extinguished,
and one day you realize
the embers of those dreams
have fueled you
all the while.
And one day,
you set out to realize
those dreams,
carrying that fuel within.

so well written. Yes, the feelings, the ideas, those dreams do come out in one form or another. Let them fuel the good things in life.

Those are the stuff that life is made of, Vinitha! Loved the beautiful imageries you shared in your poem. Dreams that we think are stifled or buried do find a way out into this world through us, when we least expect them to. Let the blaze keep you going and bring out the other dreams now!

I could write the darker side of this, where they smolder and slowly incinerate you from the inside, in retribution for ignoring them… 😉 But I am choosing positive thoughts today, so thank you for reminding me. This is a lovely poem, Vinitha.

How wonderfully inspiring is this! The fuel keeping the blaze going is surely going to launch the rocket in the perfect trajectory when the time is right.
