I know, not often I say this to you

That I admire you the most,

Beyond any words, I can utter

Because dear, you are my true love!

Let this be our little secret

That I would like to spend,

Every waking moment with you

Beyond the slightest doubt, I know!

Cruel this world, keeping us away

Despite my 24by7 need for you,

Life is such, my darling,

A sip of you I crave all the time,

My hot simmering cup of tea

Stealing my taste buds always

A passion so deep you carve

And lost in your love,

More for you I crave!

A lifetime of wait

proved to be in vain,

When a Knight in shining armor

failed to appear,

And she learned to become the savior

for her own sake forever.

“Dannyyy, why did you push your friend down the stairs? Look how hurt he is?” Rita was annoyed at how the playdate has turned from fun to fight.

“You told me to stand up for me when kids are not nice to me. Alex was making fun of my new haircut. I was only standing up for me, mommy!” paused Danny.

He looked at his mom and continued with a little hesitation, “I won’t get into trouble for this, right mommy? The other day when daddy pushed you down the stairs he didn’t get into trouble. So it’s okay, right?”

He promised, “I’ll be there for you, always!”

He convinced, “We’re soulmates forever!”

Turned out, he didn’t have a soul to share!

The captivating silhouette
Tranquilizing and Intriguing
From afar, I thought!

It never occurred to me
How empty it could be
Once I get close!

An empty silhouette
That captured my eyes
Alas, I learn a little late!

Reflection and Revelation #writebravely

24 Sunday Jun 2018

Cluttered and cramped

A mess with no sense

A feeling with no escape

A mind so unfit

For fun, of any kind

With no direction whatsoever

That’s the way I thought

Of myself many times

A million shades circling in and out

Creating exceptional hues

Experiences varied and myriad

Forming a passage so rare

Only one form of me

Encompassing all that is diverse and varied

That’s what I failed to recognize

Stories packed in

When told with no apprehensions

Crowded mind transformed into a resource

A collection of  creativity untapped

A boundless joy I stepped in

Now that’s a picture

To hold on forever.

Amy looked at the photograph in her hand once again. Another Father’s day has come and gone, yet she couldn’t muster the courage to face her father.

All that she had of her father was this photo – she as a little baby sleeping peacefully on her dad’s chest! He remained a mystery to her as her mom never disclosed about the whereabouts of her father. Lies can never cover up the truth forever. Finally two years ago Amy managed to extort the truth out of her mother, not after guessing the inevitable though.

But now, watching from distance, Amy couldn’t help but feel that her mother’s lies were sweeter than this reality.

One last look and she walked back promising to keep those flowers in his grave tomorrow.
