Impressions
These dull-looking plants with light pink flowers were seen along the pathway of our apartment complex. Next to them stood some bright red flowers stealing the show. I took photos of both the flowers and to my surprise the dull-look was photographed better. It could be because of my lack of photography skills, but this capture showed me a different perspective – that first impression may not always be the best.

Couldn’t agree more. First impressions are only impressions. Never a final take. Thank you for joining! 🙂

Bougainvilla can be very flamboyant when in full bloom. This seems a young plant and it has already impressed the camera! 😉

I liked your insight on the photograph. I like photographing flowers so I know what you mean.

That’s interesting! Why didn’t you post both pictures so that we could actually see the comparison?

I do a lot of flower photography, and certain colors (white, especially) don’t seem to photograph well. Or, it could be lighting. For me, pink usually photographs well, so it may not be a case of “first impression”. The camera doesn’t necessarily see what we see, which makes photography as a hobby so interesting! I have mixed feelings about first impressions, but I do tend to go with my gut. Unfortunately, if the first impression is bad, there’s a lot for me to overcome if that impression later turns out to be false.
