Often I stroll,
With roots deep below, and
Calm and composed above,
Battling battles of my own,
Where no eyes reach,
To spy or judge,
A summer shade,
A winter wonder,
Questioning my purpose,
Perhaps, this many appearances I keep,
Is, in fact, my purpose in this life, I wonder.
Sharing the above picture and verses with Parul’s #ThursdayTreeLove,
Wordless Wednesday hosted by Esha and Natasha.
Wonderful poem and photo!

This is beautiful. The words made me think of the tree and us humans. How there are storms within but a calm on the outside. Thanks for linking. Always good to have you around.

Thanks, Parul. We all have something else brewing in the insides, don’t we? 🙂

I love your poems. They are simple but have such a deep message. Often what’s on the outside isn’t a true reflection of what is going on within.

The depth in these lines took me for a dive into the meaning. This can also be the purpose of one’s life – to keep an acceptable appearance.
On a lighter note, that round seating around the tree is very much inviting to have a heart to heart talk 🙂
Compilation! Ebook! Does anything ring familiar? 🙂 🙂

Yes, that is a good spot to just sit and chat. Thank you for your encouragement always, dear! 🙂

That quiet exterior with battles raging inside is very well known to me. You’ve portrayed a nice introspective mood in the poem that I can easily relate to. You’ve a natural affinity for poetry, Vinitha! Thank you for linking up with our #WW prompt and sharing this lovely poem.
