Today is special, her mind kept repeating. Jenna hadn’t had this excited in a long while.
The empty seats will be occupied. The incessant chatter will resume. And that heavenly coffee smell will envelop the cafe once again.
After a long break her cafe will come to life again today.
All will be right in her world again.

There’s nothing more beautiful than hope as the post-pandemic world begins to look anew at the environment, humankind and more sustainable ways of living and working! Loved the short vignette you shared, Vinitha. She must have been so eagerly awaiting this day. Hope it is the beginning of better and safer times for the many thousands like her who had to forcefully close down their businesses during the pandemic.

This speaks of the lockdown days during the pandemic. How relieving it must have been for the small businesses to open their shops after the lockdown was lifted with the hope things will get back to being fine!
