Woods #ThursdayTreeLove

Appalachian trail in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

woods aren’t always dark and cold,
not when they filter the sunlight in
and let the breeze hug you
not when they shed their leaves around you
as if they are conversing with you!

woods aren’t always dark and deep,
not when they keep an eye out for you
and promise to be there waiting for you
when you are done with your quest
as if they are the friends you sought always!

woods aren’t always dark and cold,
not when they safeguard your secrets
and let you continue your journey in peace
not when they listen to your stories
as if there is no one else in the world!

woods aren’t always dark and deep,
not when they offer a home away from home
and trails leading to a better clarity
not when you find a piece of you
among the rustle of leaves!

  1. I love the poem and can easily relate, especially to “…promise to be there waiting for you
when you are done with your quest
as if they are the friends you sought always!”
I see the header photo, but the other two are not opening for me.

  2. Always love your verses. I can’t see the picture Vinitha. Not on phone or laptop. Also, super grateful to your support and here’s wishing you and your loved ones a lovely start to 2023. ❀
