Taming Uncertainty #FictionMonday

The steps taken yesterday,
The decisions made today,
The crossroads emerging ahead,
Uncertainty every step of the way.

Indecisions, making decisions already,
Perfect plans never materializing.
Life, an amalgam of this and that,
Never this or that alone.

Drowning in uncertainties,
Callings identified,
Will to live realized,
Dreams fulfilled.

Uncertainty, yet another road!
Uncertainty, just another road!

  1. Vinitha, uncertainty every step of the way! Life is a roller coaster of events and what is certain is that it is not. I love how you write such thoughtful lines which make the readers think too.

  2. The play of words in the last two lines adds so much meaning to your poem. Beautifully written. I wish you a very happy new year.

  3. Thought provoking!! True, uncertainty is that winding road that invites us to navigate ambiguity with unpredictability. It can be pretty stressful but it is also an opportunity for new perspectives and unforeseen adventures!!

  4. Stopping by your blog after a long time, Vinitha!
Such a beautiful poem…so much of life is all about accepting the uncertainties and living in duality and yet we are never ready to accept the truth. The refrain in the concluding lines leaves a haunting note in the reader’s mind.

  5. I loved this poem the first time I read it on IG. But I forgot to add that the last two lines just blew me away!
If only we learnt to live with uncertainty; accepted it as part of life and used it as a tool instead of something to fear.
