Impossible #FictionMonday

Impossible – not a much-loved word, but one that is often used to keep mankind in line. However, I am not greatly affected by this word or its constraints. In fact, I am always thrilled when I hear it spoken to me.

I am simply too stubborn to play along, preferring to prove the other person wrong and break the shackles placed on me. No other word has given me the courage to take a step or the freedom to step out of conformity quite like ‘impossible’.

If everything were easily possible, would our achievements be so glorious? I doubt it. Just as gravity is never showered with love or even thought about, despite the fact that life on Earth is made possible solely because of gravity, our achievements would also be taken for granted if everything was so effortlessly possible and if challenges were non-existent.

I believe the notion of impossible makes everything possible.

  1. ‘If everything were easily possible, would our achievements be so glorious?’ This is a potent statement. As I have come to believe, a lot of fearlessness is required to step out of conformity and to go for the impossible.

Kudos to your stubborness for always not choosing to play along and for your determination to break your shackles, Vinitha.
