When Memories Bloom #FictionMonday

Bougainvillea Flowers

In the pink flowers live my memories vividly,
as though my past finds solace in their embrace,
under the charisma of the bougainvillea blooms.
Grandpa, grandma, cousins, aunts…
they appear in my mind’s eye, one by one,
every time I glimpse these graceful flowers,
igniting childhood memories, one after another.

A simple flower sparking a myriad of memories—
how does such simplicity carry such depth?
A symbol of my childhood,
yet nothing is merely simple;
everything holds significance, even the seemingly plain,
like a bougainvillea blossom cradling a lifetime of my childhood in its petals.
Life is scattered with memories of every hue;
may yours overflow with cherished moments to revisit.
