A Slice of Love

Miya watched eagerly as Anu opened her lunch box. Her eyes widened with excitement as she spotted a slice of bread, toasted with a cute image.

“Ooh! Is that a cat?” Miya asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

Anu giggled. “It’s a dog, silly! My mom made this just for you,” she said, holding out the slice of bread with a little dog’s face toasted onto it, the chocolate spread carefully outlining its features.

Miya’s face lit up with a smile as she took the bread from Anu. “Thank you, Anu. I love your mom.”

Noticing the glint of tears in Miya’s eyes, Anu hugged her friend. “And my mom loves you just as much as she loves me,” she whispered.

Miya felt the warmth of those words deep in her heart. Even though she had never experienced it before, she understood a mother’s love.
