The harsh realities,
the unpleasant truths,
the unkind experiences—
life, a mixed bag of sweet, sour, and bitter.
Yet, there’s grace in the chaos,
in the uncertainties that pop in and out.
There’s beauty in surviving,
as resilience and hope emerge,
dancing through the intensifying tension
between despair and promise.
The ever-so-graceful life,
despite its jagged edges,
offers moments of stillness—
soft whispers of happiness,
tender reminders of strength.
Harsh and kind,
bitter and sweet—
the grace in living glows,
as life continues to give,
teaching and equipping us
with the ultimate power
to lead gracefully.

Incredibly apt, Vinitha. Your words worked their way into the corners of my mind and settled down to stay. “Graceful Life” is the perfect title.

That sums up life accurately. If one can remain graceful in chaos, one has mastered the art of living.

Beautifully expressed, Vinitha! I liked the analogy of the “jagged edges”…and couldn’t agree more on how life is about “dancing” between “despair” and “promise”, as you so beautifully put.
Interestingly, I’ve also shared something similar in my most recent post (which is in the form of a poem). Wrote one after a long time and felt very rusty but then, that’s the only way to get back to writing poetry esp if you’ve had a break! There are certain nuances of expression that only poetry allows you to do best and I can see many instances of them in your poem, Vinitha.
