Pause. Think. Overthink. Hesitate—
for what?
to speak your truth?
such a simple word,
yet so hard to say—No.
No stands firm,
fearless and whole.
no justifications needed,
a sentence—wild and free.
Say no
with no guilt whatsoever,
create space to breathe
when mindless yeses
begin to suffocate you.
Find power in staying true,
show self-love by claiming your space.
exercise your right to say no,
say it with ease,
with a smile on your face.
No reasons wrapped in soft disguise,
no overthinking,
no analyzing.
no strings attached—just no.

‘The Freedom of No’ reminded me of the times when I said NO with ‘no guilt’, ‘with ease’ and ‘with a smile’ and also of the times when I ‘hesitated’ and ‘overthought’ 🙂 I admit I still find it difficult to say ‘No’, sometimes and I am aware of it. So beautifully written, Vinitha!
