Fiction Monday – 250

Welcome to the two hundred and fiftieth edition of Fiction Monday.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”—Arthur Ashe

My first Fiction Monday prompt went live on 14th June 2020. I didn’t realize then that I would still be publishing prompts five years later.

In the beginning, there were both a word prompt and a picture prompt. Last year, I stopped including the picture prompt.

Two hundred and fifty word prompts — that’s quite a lot, isn’t it?

Honestly, I don’t know how long I’ll continue doing this. But for now, I plan to keep posting a prompt for Fiction Monday every week.

I’m grateful to all of you who have supported Fiction Monday from its early days to the present. Your presence means a lot to me. It has given me the encouragement to keep coming back here.

Let’s keep writing together and uplifting one another through reading and commenting.

Every word matters. Truly.

Fiction Monday 250 – HELP

Word Prompt – HELP

The idea is simple―to write. On Mondays, I will post a word prompt here. You have one week to respond with your musings.

The expected word count is between 50 and 500. You are welcome to share poetry, non-fiction musings, or fictional pieces. The whole idea is to write, share, and encourage each other.

You have time till May 11th, Sunday, 2024.

Don’t forget to add the link to your story in the comments below. On Monday, May 12th, I will share your creations here, along with the prompt for the two hundredth and fifty-first edition.

  1. It’s so wonderful that you’ve persisted in continuing this, Vinitha! Thank you for this nudge to get us to explore and push our creative limits— it is hard work doing it week after week, but let me also tell you, it is deeply appreciated, Vinitha.

I will write something this week for sure. The prompt is interesting. 🙂
