The Flicker Within

but there isn’t any.
some days lack the fuel—
to move, to make, to feel.
no motivation to go on,
no inspiration to create,
no energy to smile,
not even enough to cry.

some days offer nothing.
and on those days,
I remind myself—
it’s not the will that’s gone,
but the strength to see
that will still waits,
beneath the weight of it all.

the will is never lost.

so I show up
to keep going,
to keep reminding,
to keep lighting the spark,
to keep the flame alive,
to steady the faltering,
to fuel the will—
and not fall off the edge.

  1. if you ask me sometimes we all need a little break from being strong … a little break to feel all those emotions before getting back on our feet.
