Let It Be

Let it be.

Simple, isn’t it?

But experience says that’s one of the hardest things to do.

Even a simple act like writing a daily gratitude journal will flourish only if we master the art of letting it be—letting the words and gratitude gleam and bubble up naturally.

You know what tampers with letting it be?

Lack of patience.

Lack of patience in listening to the inner voice.

Lack of patience because it’s so boring to quiet down and be still.

Lack of patience because it doesn’t feel productive.

If we can quiet down a bit—listen to the thoughts that fleet by and gently put them in their rightful place—perhaps letting it be wouldn’t be so hard.

Maybe then let it be wouldn’t sound so dismissive.

Maybe then let it be would mean giving space to accommodate what needs to be accommodated, letting each thought find its own gentle gleam.
