New Year Resolutions

The thing about New Year’s resolutions is that they’re a tricky area. I like them because they force me to stop and reflect on the changes I would like to incorporate in my life. At the same time, I don’t like them because I almost always fail to keep them throughout the year.

But this year, I’m going to change how I see New Year’s resolutions.

I want to see these resolutions more as guidelines—ways to shape my day into something I can look back on fondly. And if I miss a few days here and there, that’s fine. No pressure.

A missed resolution isn’t a failure. If I miss a day, or two, or even a month, I can pick it up the next day—or the day after. That’s the right thing to do. Giving up on plans, goals, and resolutions is nothing but foolishness. We have these tools to shape our lives into something better, more bearable, more lovable. We do this for ourselves, right?

So yes,  I’m in the process of coming up with my resolutions and goals for 2026. How about you?

Wishing you all a wonderful 2026. Let’s make it a good one.
