Something is always left undone on my to-do list.
Always.
Day after day. Night after night.
Now, certain “somethings” do get done. But then those same tasks reappear on the list the very next day. For example: laundry. Folding clothes is a never-ending task. Another one is washing dishes. I go to bed with an empty sink, only for it to be filled with pots and pans the very next morning.
Of course, these to-do list items get done. Mostly.
But there are other things that have been languishing on my list for years. Oh yes, you heard that right. Years.
I am not comfortable sharing those here. I fear you might judge me and question my life choices—just as I do every day—if I were to share the items that grace me with their presence year after year.
I think it’s about time those items got upgraded to a “Someday List”. Or maybe, I come up with a list called “Drop it”.
Yeah, maybe.
The translations of talks of two Tamil sages are one of my favourite reads. I wanted to learn Tamil just to read the original version. I started to learn Tamil two times and dropped out. But Learning Tamil is still on my to-do list and I feel I will learn it ‘someday’. May your to-do-someday wishes be fulfilled Vinitha!

Oh I know those long overdue ‘to-do’ things, I have quite a few too, Vini.

I read that any to-do-list has to be half empty, for a specific time.
Just to make room for surprises and activities for our soul!
I think is better for us such an approach.
I have also subjects that appear again year after year. But now
I know why: They are too complicated and they have to be done in
small steps…
All the best, Vinitha! Do not worry about these lists. There are other
problems more complicated!❤️😘
