No matter how fiercely
the storm inside my mind rages,
I find my heart,
my soul,
my face
lighting up
in the company of nature.
No matter how dark and low I feel,
I feel blessed
when nature accompanies me
on my walks,
wearing its soft evening jewelry.
Glimpsing a shard of moon
glinting amidst the canopy of leaves,
nuzzling between golden-hued traces of clouds
before the sky gets ready
to be dotted with a million stars.
No matter how heavy the day was,
the company of nature
makes me feel light enough
to pause,
to breathe,
and to acknowledge
the blessings in my life
beneath a sky
slowly filling with stars.
