I wait forever for spring,
for the magic
to unfold once again—
for the revival of flora and fauna,
for life to rise
from winter’s long slumber.
The stillness had seemed
almost eternal,
as though winter
had cast its spell
over everything.
But all it took
was a change of season,
spring’s quiet arrival,
to breathe life
back into the earth.
