Books.
The ones that have been keeping me company these past few months.
And that includes the ones I couldn’t finish for various reasons, too. Even the ones I stopped reading halfway through because they were not quite what I had hoped.
There is no book that cannot nourish my thoughts, my mind, in some way.
Last month, I read a book written by a person I randomly came across on YouTube while watching one of the survival stories. Her name is Rejitha Nandini, and the book is called Lemon Candies. It is a memoir of sorts, narrating stories from her childhood.
That book brought back such fond memories for me. I felt as though I had been given a lemon candy and was relishing the sweetness it had to offer through tales from her childhood. It could be because she and I come from the same hometown, and there were some similarities in the way we lived a long time ago. The same language, the same festivals, the same familiar threads of a shared place.
Reading that book made me want to write about my own childhood stories as well.
A book that inspires its reader to write is soul-nourishing, indeed.
My love for reading and writing will continue to grow for as long as there are books to read.
And for now, that is what truly nourishes me.

What truly nourishes me right now is…
Write without editing for ten minutes. Don’t explain or justify—just name what feeds you in this season.
Thank you, Corinne.
