Open communication is the key,
now that’s my belief,
and I stand by it.
Then why this dilemma?
If I speak my mind,
hell will break loose.
Well, I see clearly
that hell has already broken loose.
Else, I wouldn’t be in this dilemma,
wondering whether to speak
or stay quiet.
Yet, it is hard to see
when others fail to see what I see.
The broken pieces
smithereened further,
feelings toyed with,
lives entrapped,
smothered,
escape made to feel
like it is not an option.
I am livid,
filled with distress and agony,
merely trying to provoke
an emotion —
anger,
compassion.
But all I feel is helplessness
when those who should try
to break free
seem to believe
the shackles are mere decorations
they are wearing,
and not the chains
that restrain them.
That they are just as free,
that it is a choice.
And I am left with the question:
Why are they not hearing
the sob that escapes occasionally,
the sob that says
they were never given a choice?
Wake up,
before it is too late.
Nothing is stopping you,
except your refusal to realize
that you are not trapped.
Can you see that?

Yes, I saw that. Clearly.
Reading this poem felt like you got into my mind, raked through it and came out with these words. Everything, each and every word says the truth how I have been living for past few weeks. We will discuss the thoughts behind this poem when I get a little more better.

The most necessary but also the hardest thing to do. It calls for authenticity and vulnerability – not knowing how our truth will be received. So much to think about.

“Wake up, before it is too late”. A very good advise. Or vital advise!
Sometimes I have the impression that people can not wake up, because
they do not know they sleep, even this sounds a little bit crazy…
All the best, dear Vinitha. I’ll make a pause. So, I wish you a fine July! ❤️😘

This is the first step: awareness. But without this step, nothing can be done. The feeling of helplessness is awful.
Have a beautiful weekend, dear Vinitha!
