Yesterday, I had a dentist appointment. It was for a crown replacement, so right now I have two temporary crowns. Ever since I got them yesterday, my tooth has been hurting. My tongue too. It keeps rubbing against one of the temporary crowns, and it’s all a bit of a mess. In two weeks, I’ll get the permanent crowns, which I hope will fix all these issues. For now, the pain comes and goes. I’m more worried about my unsuspecting tongue.
That being said, here are the things that made me smile today.
- Finally going to my dentist appointment after postponing it for a year. I hate going to the dentist. Routine cleanings are fine, but anything beyond that gets postponed. So when I finally went ahead and scheduled the appointment last week, it felt like a win. That’s why, despite the discomfort I’m dealing with now, it still deserves a place in my smile-worthy column.
- Reading a few posts on Medium. There is so much to read—Medium, Substack, blogs. I genuinely enjoy reading other people’s writing. Well, sometimes I feel a little overwhelmed by how much catching up I have to do. But today, catching up made me smile.
- Playing Monopoly. This game was entirely Akku’s insistence. We’ve been playing it over the past four days, and today, I finally became debt-free. I may not win the game, but it feels a lot better when I don’t owe everyone a whole lot of Monopoly money.

I’ve been going to the dentist too – long overdue. Hopefully will be done with the major portion at the end of this month. Good luck to you with your treatment, Vini.
I have so much catching up to do too, but I’ve decided to do what I can each day and not allow myself to be overwhelmed.
